Sexual system: Both sexes in each flower

Fruit: Released 2 months after flowering
Seed dispersal: Ants
Seed storage: Underground in ants nests
Rarity status: Was thought to be extinct after the last known population was ploughed up in 1987. New populations were found recently
Habitat: Sandy soils on moist scars, 400m
Distribution: Palmiet River Valley in Kogelberg
